I offer individual psychotherapy, marital counselling, and psychological consultation. My main approaches to individual therapy are cognitive-behavioural (focus on beliefs, thoughts and actions) and psychodynamic (focus on understanding and insight). With both approaches the aim is to get at the root of the problem and make lasting change.

Populations Served

I offer psychological services to individuals 18 years and over, couples, and seniors. An important part of my practice is working with clients who want to integrate their Christian faith into their counselling or psychotherapy.

Clinical Practice Areas

I work with clients on many problem areas including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sexual abuse, bereavement, and marital difficulties.  Sometimes the focus of therapy is achieving specific goals related to things like stress management, coping strategies, forgiveness, communication, boundaries, assertiveness, self-esteem, anger management, intimacy difficulties, workplace stress, and work return.

Often when people first seek the help of a psychologist they are not quite sure what the problem or diagnosis is. They may be experiencing emotional or physical symptoms such as worry, tension, headaches, periods of sadness or crying, episodes of chest pain, overeating, loss of motivation, guilt, nightmares or other sleep problems, irritability, or fatigue. Before therapy begins, we take time to figure out what the problem is and discuss a treatment plan.
